When I think about the future, I see two intertwined paths: my personal future and the future of the world. The challenge? They’re deeply connected, and the state of the world often makes me question if there’s a future worth planning for.
A World on Edge
Just last week, three wars raged across the globe. Today, we’re down to oneprogress, maybe? But the other two could flare up again at any moment. Trigger-happy world leaders and profit-driven weapons manufacturers seem to hold the reins, leaving me wondering who’s really in charge. And then there’s the irony of selfie-obsessed climate activists and celebrities jetting around in private planes, preaching environmentalism to someone like mea work-from-home guy doing his best to keep things simple.
My Personal Anchor
On a personal level, my future feels stable. Why? Because I’m a planner. I map out my goals, budget my time, and keep my life in order. But here’s the catch: what good is a well-planned life if the planet itself is in chaos? If the world keeps spiralingwhether from conflict or environmental neglectmy carefully laid plans might not mean much.
Focusing on What I Can Control
Since I can’t rein in reckless leaders or hypocritical celebrities, I focus on what’s within my reach. I take life one day at a time, keeping my affairs in order and striving to live intentionally. It’s not about ignoring the world’s problems but about finding balance in a reality I can’t fully control.
