Let me start by saying that that the last thing you learned is yet to come. I’ve come to believe that learning is a journey without a finish line. Life hands you lessons dailysome subtle, some sharpand it’s up to you to hold onto them or let them slip away, only to stumble over the same mistakes again.
The past couple of months have been a whirlwind for me. As I’ve probably mentioned a thousand times on this blog (sorry, not sorry!), I’ve been living solo in a house that feels a tad too big for one. It’s been a crash course in survival, pushing me to pick up skills I never thought I’d need. From wrestling weeds in the garden to chopping onions in the kitchenyes, tears includedevery day brings something new.
Lessons from Living Alone
- Gardening: Turns out, weeds don’t pull themselves. I’ve learned to spot the difference between a plant I want and one that’s just squatting rent-free.
- Cooking: I’m no chef, but I can now whip up a meal without setting off the smoke alarm. Progress!
- Emotional Resilience: Onions aren’t the only thing making me cry some days, but I’m getting better at rolling with it.
On top of that, I’ve started a new challenge: pull-ups. My goal? Twenty in one go. Right now, I’m hovering at a shaky two, with aching arms as my reward. But I’m learningslowly, painfully, and with a lot of grunting. Give me a year, and I’ll hit that target. (Hold me to it!)
Here’s the thing: the moment you think you’ve got it all figured out, you’ve already lost the plot. The biggest fool isn’t the one who stumbles; it’s the one who stops reaching for new lessons. Life’s too generous with its teachings to ever call it quits.
So, my advice? Embrace the process. Learn how to live, one lesson at a time. The last thing I learned is still on its wayand I’m ready for it.
