I’m at that awkward age where I don’t have a favorite emoji. They burst onto the scene and caught my generation by surprise. Some of my peers have embraced them, sprinkling their posts with lively, dancing cartoons. But I still feel a bit clumsy using emojis to convey a thousand words. I often stick with a simple :)though I’m never quite sure if it says, “I agree,” “I think you’re wrong,” or “Do you think I’m clueless?”
I suspect emojis might be a fleeting trend, soon to be replaced by new forms of word-substitutes. (Yes, I know “word-substitutes” isn’t a real term, but bear with me!)
