The annual exams

“These are the questions, you have thirty minutes to complete this test,” said the teacher as she returned to her desk. It was the annual exams and the students were feeling the pressure.
The boy looked at the blackboard and sighed.
There were ten questions in all. Mathematics turned my brain to mush.
In his mind, he could see his father scolding him.
He could see his mother shaking her head in anguish on seeing his report card.
He looked at the next bench. The boy who sat there got the best grades in class.
He sneaked a glance at his sheet. He could see all the answers.
‘I can copy from him,’ he thought.
That could save him from the trouble at home.
He thought for a minute.
Something about the idea did not seem correct.
‘No, I will not copy,’ he said to himself, and began to answer on his own.
