My way of celebrating holidays

My way of celebrating holidays has remained unchanged over the years: spending them quietly at home with family. After spending much of my life travelingjourneys that took me across the length and breadth of the country, staying in everything from luxury hotels to humble lodgings, and dining with people from all walks of lifeI now relish the peace and quiet of home. I work from home and maintain the same working hours every day. Thankfully, my wife shares some of my habits. She is happiest when curled up with a good novel. On holidays the kitchen is also given some time off. Unless she has a sudden spurt of inspiration and wants to cook up something special, but that is only if our son is at home. Our son, a Chartered Accountant, works at an organization where time off is a rarity. On holidays, he’s often working remotely, and on… My way of celebrating holidays

An ideal week for me

An ideal week for me would be a blissful parade of pure, unadulterated relaxationa full-on, all-you-can-eat buffet of laziness where work doesn’t even have a reservation. Just me, my couch, and the remote control, with no one around to say, “Shouldn’t you be doing something productive?” But here’s the problemI’m not built for that. Nope. My brain doesn’t come with an off switch. Even in my dream vacation, I’d still be up at 3:30 AM. Springing out of bed like I’m late for a marathon I didn’t sign up for. Or lying there like a burrito, tossing, turning, and holding an Olympic event called “Competitive Insomnia.” Relaxation? Hmm maybe it is not for me 😥
