What makes a teacher great?

When we hear the word “teacher,” most of us picture the educators who shaped our school or college years. For some, a single inspiring figure stands outa mentor who sparked curiosity or changed their path. For me, however, no such individual comes to mind. And yet, I’ve been fortunate to have profound teachers, not in the form of people, but in the lessons life itself has taught me. A great teacher, to me, is more than someone who recites a syllabus or follows a textbook. They are a guide, gently leading you through the doors of knowledge, simplifying the most complex ideas, and helping you turn weaknesses into strengths. They don’t just teachthey inspire growth and resilience. In my case, life’s challenges have been my greatest instructors. Every misstep, every failure, every moment of misfortune has been a lesson etched into my memory. I’ve made it a point not to… What makes a teacher great?

Who was your most influential teacher? Why?

The most influential teacher I’ve ever had isn’t a personit’s life itself, woven from the tapestry of experiences I’ve encountered along the way. I suspect this resonates with everyone on Earth. As we navigate the winding road of existence, we stumble upon moments that wound us, uplift us, and leave their mark. These memories, etched into our minds, quietly shape the choices we make moving forward. No one in their right mind repeats the same mistake twicenot willingly, at least. The lessons life imparts are priceless, tailored precisely to our needs, forged by the very chapters we’ve written ourselves. Cherish them, hold them close. There’s no greater instructor.
