Elections are the heartbeat of democracy, transforming the will of the people into leadership. They reflect popular sentiment, whether we agree with the outcome or not. Personally, I’ve often found myself at odds with the winning side. My ideas rarely align with those in power, and I’ve felt ignored by the system. Yet, I keep voting, hoping for changeone election at a time. I’ll admit, voting can feel discouraging. Time and again, I back candidates who don’t win. My choices aren’t swayed by party loyalty or ideology. Instead, I focus on the individual: their education, character, and integrity. I dig deeper, especially when candidates face legal accusations, as politics today often involves weaponizing false charges against opponents. This means I spend time researching to separate fact from fictiona process that’s both exhausting and enlightening. Despite my efforts, my chosen candidates rarely come out on top.
