My way of celebrating holidays has remained unchanged over the years: spending them quietly at home with family. After spending much of my life travelingjourneys that took me across the length and breadth of the country, staying in everything from luxury hotels to humble lodgings, and dining with people from all walks of lifeI now relish the peace and quiet of home. I work from home and maintain the same working hours every day. Thankfully, my wife shares some of my habits. She is happiest when curled up with a good novel. On holidays the kitchen is also given some time off. Unless she has a sudden spurt of inspiration and wants to cook up something special, but that is only if our son is at home.
