Changes are a part of life

Changes are a part of life. Let’s start with something as simple as rearranging a desk. For decades, my desk has been a technological jungle: a laptop, a pair of speakers, a printer, an external monitor, a keyboard, a mouse, and a pen holder overflowing with about a hundred pensmost of which haven’t written since the turn of this century. Every couple of months, I get fed up with the arrangement and decide it’s time for a fresh start. Until last Sunday, the printer had a prime spot on the right, while the laptop lounged lazily on the left. The speakers stood guard on either side of the monitor, and the keyboard and mouse were like stubborn teenagers who refused to move. It was time for a change. As I picked up each item, a thick layer of dust and cobwebs appeared, as if I had unearthed a forgotten tomb. Suddenly, my desk needed not just a makeover… Changes are a part of life

When your laptop misbehaves

Have you ever experienced a situation where your electronic devices stopped working when you needed them the most? For instance, your laptop misbehaves when you happen to be working on an important letter for your boss, or your printer runs out of ink when you urgently require a printout.  It seems like mechanical objects are not immune to this problem either. Recently, I had to take my son to his school’s sports meet, but my motorbike refused to start. Eventually, we took a rickshaw to make the trip.  Every so often, I can’t help but feel like these machines are conspiring against us. It’s like they’re ganging up and planning something. I will be observing them and share further updates if things get serious.

A few words

A few words of encouragement, a shoulder for support, a gentle nudge. That is all you need to comfort someone. Be patient with those who look up to you for guidance. You do not need to be an orator to appreciate others. All it needs is empathy and a warm heart. Whenever you waste food, natural resources or splurge on meaningless purchases, think of the millions who are hungry or live on the streets. You would realize how lucky you are. Make the best of the opportunities you have and move ahead in life. We live in a small world. A tiny dot in this vast universe. Let us make it a safe place for future generations. Let’s make this a better world.
