When asked how often do I walk or run, my answer is usually: not as much as I would like or should. My work revolves around computers and smartphones, and I typically spend about 10 to 12 hours a day glued to screens. This unhealthy routine often leads to weight gain, a tendency to snack on junk food, and minimal interaction with the outside world. Fortunately, I maintain a strict schedule of waking up and going to bed, along with a near-daily exercise routine, which helps balance out these habits. However, I still feel that I should make more time for walking and, if possible, running. I hope to move to Kerala soon, leaving behind Mumbai, which currently feels like it has me in a vice-like grip. I’ve promised myself that once in Kerala, I’ll commit to a more active and healthy lifestyle.
The last thing that I got excited about was building a house from scratch. Of course I did not build it with my own hands, but I was responsible or involved with each and every step in the process. This was about three years back. At the peak of the COVID lock downs. I traveled to Kerala, to my hometown, and that is where I built my dream house. The entire process is elaborate.
