Write about your first crush.

When you hear the word “crush,” you might picture a fleeting affection for someone special. For me, though, my first crush wasn’t a personit was books. From the moment I could read, I fell head over heels for the written word, a love affair that shaped my childhood and carried me to worlds beyond my own. Books were my escape, my adventure, my everything. Comics, storybooks, novelsI devoured them all with an insatiable hunger. Every page turned was a ticket to a faraway land, where superheroes battled villains, mysteries unraveled, and wonder awaited around every corner. Whether it was the vibrant panels of a comic book or the rich prose of a novel, each story whisked me away to realms where the impossible became real. Sadly, as the years passed, my passion for reading began to fade. Life’s demands crept in, and the stacks of books on my nightstand gathered… Write about your first crush.

If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be? Why?

If I could step into the shoes of any character from a book or film, I’d choose one with the power to travel through timespecifically, the time traveler from H.G. Wells’ The Time Machine. Imagine the possibilities: leaping across centuries, rubbing shoulders with history’s greatest minds, or watching pivotal moments unfold that shaped our world. With a flick of a lever, I’d visit the brilliance of Leonardo da Vinci sketching in Renaissance Italy, stand amidst the crowd as the Declaration of Independence is signed, or even gaze into the distant future to see where humanity’s journey leads. It wouldn’t just be a trip through timeit’d be a front-row seat to the raw, unfiltered story of us. The experience would be nothing short of eye-opening. History books tell us what happened, but to see itto hear the voices, feel the tension, and witness the chaos or triumph firsthandwould bring a whole… If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be? When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was five, the concept of growing up felt like a distant myth. I was convinced I’d stay young forever, trapped in a blissful bubble of endless possibility. Life back then was pure, unadulterated fun. School? was a pain. But the real teachers were the comics stacked by my bedside, their colorful pages unlocking the mysteries of the world. The Phantom’s jungle adventures fueled my dreams. Drawn by the legendary Lee Falk, his tales of masked heroism had me flexing my scrawny arms, imagining muscles that could crush villains into submission. I’d patrol my backyard, picturing myself as the Ghost Who Walks, ready to restore justice with a single punch. Then there was Mandrake the Magiciananother Falk masterpiece. His hypnotic gestures and suave cape promised a future where I’d wield magic to outsmart chaos, bending reality with a flick of my wrist. And oh, those rare Flash Gordon comics!… When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?
