This is a true story, a random encounter that happened way back In 1995. At age 24, I was posted as a government officer in a remote Himalayan village, overseeing vast areas without electricity or decent plumbing. My days were spent wandering the village or reading novels in my office, with my four staff members rarely showing up except to collect their salaries. One day, I visited a staff member who was ill, lying in his mud-plastered bamboo hut.
