Who is the most confident person you know?

Of all the people I know, I’d say I’m the most confident personnot out of arrogance, but as a simple observation. Few, if any, of those around me have taken the kinds of risks I’ve embraced over the years. I’ve charted my own path, often steering against the current of well-meaning advice from my “elders.” Time and again, I’ve chosen to trust my instincts and stay true to my goals. The result? Not only did I succeed, but in some areas, I soared beyond what anyoneincluding myselfthought possible. Those same “elders” who once cautioned me now sit back, quietly observing what I’ve built. What advice would you give to your teenage self?

If, by some twist of fate, I stumbled across my teenage self, my advice would be short and straight to the point. I’d tell that younger me to tread carefully when choosing whom to trustbecause not everyone deserves it. I’d urge myself to believe in my own worth and stand taller, with more confidence. And I’d warn that eager, wide-eyed kid to brace for a wild, bumpy ride over the next couple of decades. Life’s rarely smooth, but it’s always worth it.

What’s the first impression you want to give people?

To be honest, I couldn’t care less about others first impression or what people think of me. One of the perks of being over fifty is the treasure trove of life experiencesboth good and badthat you carry. Looking back on those moments, you realize how insignificant others’ opinions truly are. What truly matters is how you see yourself. At the end of the day, can you stand in front of the mirror and meet your own gaze with pride? Owning up to your actions and choices is far more meaningful than worrying about the judgments of people who neither know you nor understand your journey.
