Recharging ourselves

Let’s discuss the importance of recharging ourselves. As human beings, we all lead busy lives. Even those who seem to do nothing are often occupied with avoiding work or shirking responsibilities. For many of us, our days are scheduled down to the second, from the moment we wake up to when we finally fall asleep.

Amidst this hustle and bustle, it’s natural for fatigue to set in. Just as our bodies require regular rest, our minds need relaxation too. We all have different ways of unwinding; some find solace in music while others enjoy creative hobbies like painting or writing. I’d like to share a few methods that have worked for me.

Mindfulness is an effective way to relax: focusing on the breath entering and leaving your nose, and paying attention to the rise and fall of your stomach as you breathedespite not breathing through your stomach! Additionally, simply gazing at a spot on the floor a few feet away while keeping your mind clear can be beneficial. All are challenging techniques that require practice and dedication. Some years ago, I attended a ten-day meditation retreat, which helped me a lot.

Take time to recharge your mind; give yourself some rest, and you’ll reap the benefits later on.
