The perfect space for reading and writing isn’t just a roomit’s a sanctuary. It should be well-organized, with every tool and implement within arm’s reach. I’m not a fan of chaos; I love the comfort of knowing everything is exactly where I left it.
For me, that means having my essentials close by: my books, computer, guitar, and toolboxall neatly arranged. And, of course, there are windows to let in sunlight and a steady flow of fresh ideas.
Here in Kerala, I’ve created such a spacea quiet room perched on the top floor of my house, far removed from the bustling chaos of the ground floor. It’s my refuge, where I can work undisturbed, my thoughts flowing freely.
This house also holds another treasure: marble-top benches by the windows. They’re the perfect spot to sit with a book, soaking in the magic of the monsoon rains as they lash against the world outside.
Every writer and reader deserves a space that inspires. This is mine. What does yours look like?
