Motivation to exercise daily

Improving motivation to exercise daily can be a challenging task for many people. Even those who their doctors have advised to lose weight often find reasons to skip their workouts. I, too, fall into this category and struggle with staying consistent with my exercise routine.

However, the fear of falling ill or gaining weight serves as a strong motivator for me to continue exercising. In my family, there is a prevalent history of diabetes, high cholesterol, and fatty liver disease among its members. Luckily, I have not yet been affected by these conditions.

On days when I feel tempted to sleep in or skip my workout session, I remind myself of this family history, and it pushes me to get up and be active. Whether practicing yoga, engaging in resistance training, or running on the treadmill for a few minutes any form of physical activity helps me stay on track.

I am fortunate enough to have various exercise equipment at home that could easily fill a small gymnasium. From weights and dumbbells to an expensive treadmill – everything is readily available for me. The only missing component is finding the intrinsic motivation within myself to keep going.

I believe that reflecting on my family’s health history should be enough to keep me going 🙂
