I’ve always believed that the best weather is the kind that feels just rightneither too hot nor too cold. It’s that sweet spot where you can step outside without breaking into a sweat or bundling up in layers. Imagine a day where the air feels gentle, the breeze is soft, and you can simply be without your body battling the elements. Doesn’t that sound like paradise?
Extreme weather, whether it’s scorching heat or bone-chilling cold, can be tough on anyone. It taxes the body, especially for the young, the elderly, or those with conditions like arthritis, which can flare up in cold climates. While I’m fortunate not to deal with arthritis yet, I’ve noticed that excessive heat has started to take a toll on my health. It’s a reminder that where you live matters, especially in a country like India, where climates range from blistering deserts to icy mountains.
That’s why I feel so grateful for my home in Kerala, a place where the weather is almost always equitable. The temperature hovers in a comfortable range, rarely swinging to extremes. The catch? It rains nearly all year round! But if I’m honest, I’d take those gentle showers over unbearable heat or cold any day. There’s something soothing about the sound of raindrops pattering on the roof, the lush greenery that thrives in Kerala’s climate, and the fresh, clean air that follows a downpour.
Living in Kerala has taught me to appreciate the balance nature can offer. Sure, the rain can be a bit relentless at times, but it’s a small price to pay for a climate that feels like a warm hug from the earth.
