I failed the interview for the second time. At twenty-five, I will soon be getting too old for the job market.Â
“It is alright!â€
“Do not worry.â€
“ Third time is a charm.â€
I have heard it all.
Tired, I look down at the floor. An ant is making its way towards me with a sugar cube on its back. I flick it with my finger. The cube and the ant topple. After a few seconds of wandering, the ant picks up the cube and resumes its journey. I flick it a second time. Again it topples, wanders around and then resumes it journey with the cube. I watched as it disappeared in a crack in the wall with the sugar cube. Size and strength were defeated by dogged perseverance.
I went back to my books.
