Let us start with a simple fact: no one in their right frame of mind has a favorite form of physical exercise. We are compelled to exercise to ward off the countless ailments we carry in our genes.
My family has its fair share of high blood pressure, low blood pressure, and everything in between. You name the disease, and someone in a remote branch of the family tree has it. To avoid continuing the family tradition of poor health, I exercise. My current favorite is working out with resistance bands and light weights. Bands are better than weights as the chances of injury are lower. Moreover, they are inexpensive and easy to carry around.
I have tried everything from yoga to walking and have a room full of weights. Yoga is great for maintaining flexibility. Walking is also beneficial but requires a significant amount of time and a dedicated track near your residenceunless you can purchase an expensive treadmill and keep it in a corner of the house, where the wife can also use it to hang clothes.
My house has a staircase to the first floor, and I have now made it a habit to climb ten flights of stairs every day. This, plus the bands and light weights, is what I’m putting my faith in.
