A profession I admire

There are thousands of professions in the world. A profession I admire is the work done by our janitors and domestic help. The work done by folks who clean our toilets, sweep our streets, homes, cook for us or tend our gardens. Professionals who rarely get any thanks, but surely receive plenty of complaints. 

There are other ‘nobler’ professions like teachers, doctors, scientists, but all of these professions or the establishments where these professionals work need someone to clean them. 

If you really want to admire the work the domestic help does, then do that work on your own. Try washing, cleaning, cooking and taking care of a house while also doing your office work. I did that for about two years and lost about 15 kilos.  I did this in my own house. Now imagine doing it in others homes. 

Doing the work on my own taught me to look at the people who do this with respect.
