Music is a universal language that speaks to the soul, and for me, it’s not confined to a single genre. My playlist is as varied as my moods, flowing effortlessly from the vibrant beats of English pop to the intricate melodies of Indian classical and the rhythmic pulse of African drums. What draws me to a song isn’t its genre but its ability to stir something deep withinthose magical notes or riffs that awaken hidden emotions and spark a connection.
I believe limiting oneself to a single genre is like refusing to taste the full spectrum of life’s flavors. Every style has something unique to offer. While heavy metal might sometimes feel too intense and give me a headache, certain riffs, like the iconic opening of Black Sabbath’s Paranoid, grip me with their raw energy and pull me back for another listen. It’s that unexpected pull, that moment of resonance, that makes music so powerful.
Music doesn’t need to be a battleground for taste. Whether it’s the soothing strains of a classical sitar or the electrifying chaos of a metal guitar solo, each genre has the potential to move us in its own way. So, let’s celebrate the diversity of sound and embrace the tunes that speak to us, no matter where they come from. After all, music’s true beauty lies in its ability to connect us all.
