As someone on the “wrong side of fifty,” spare time is a rare commodity. Between professional demands and family responsibilities, free moments are precious. But I don’t see them as time to “waste”instead, they’re opportunities to grow, learn, and add value to my life.
For me, spare time isn’t about mindless scrolling or idle moments. It’s about using those fleeting breaks constructively. Living in Mumbai, my go-to spare time activities are browsing the internet for inspiration and learning new skills. If I were back in Kerala, I’d probably be tending to my garden or sprucing up the houseboth rewarding in their own way.
Here’s how I make the most of my limited free time:
- Exploring Online Learning: I dive into articles or videos to pick up practical skills, like easy exercise routines or tummy-toning tips that fit my busy lifestyle.
- Cooking Adventures: I hunt for simple recipes online, experiment in the kitchen, and keep the ones that work. It’s a small way to bring variety to daily life.
- Applying What I Learn: The real magic happens when I put these tips into action. Whether it’s a new stretch or a quick recipe, I test what resonates and make it part of my routine.
To me, there’s no such thing as “wasted” time. Every minute spent browsing, learning, or trying something new is a chance to grow.
