When I think of a single positive thing a family member did for me, my mind travels back decades to my grandfather on my mother’s side. His life was the epitome of a rags-to-riches tale. Born into extreme poverty, he rose to become one of the wealthiest businessmen in our region. But what made him truly remarkable wasn’t just his wealthit was his heart.
After building his fortune, my grandfather dedicated himself to uplifting others. He gave deserving individuals the chance to start their own businesses, creating a ripple effect of opportunity. Even now, six decades after his passing, people in our community speak his name with reverence, a testament to his enduring impact.
Among his many generous acts, one stands out for me personally. While building his empire, my grandfather ensured his family was cared for. He built homes for his children, each with a small plot of land. One of those homes, along with its land, was passed down to my mother as her inheritance. My grandfather was adamant that his wealth should benefit not only his children but his grandchildren too. That vision shaped my life in ways I never take for granted.
Today, I live in a house I built on that very patch of land in Keralaan inheritance that feels like a direct gift from my grandfather. It’s more than just a place to live; it’s a symbol of his foresight and love for generations he’d never meet.
From my grandfather, I learned a profound lesson: money is best spent when it secures a better future for those who come after you. Guided by this principle, I’ve worked in my own modest way to acquire property for my son, hoping to pass on not just land but the values I inheritedhard work, generosity, and a commitment to family.
