When I hear play in daily life I would probably imagine a recreational activity. For me, it’s a bit different. My early mornings are anything but lazy. I wake up at 3:30 AM (yes, you read that right). By 4:00 AM, I’m already at my desk.
The first order of business? Clearing out the backlog of overnight office workI work remotely, and there’s always something to catch up on. This usually takes an hour. By 5:00 AM, my so-called “playtime†begins.
It kicks off with climbing the two flights of stairs to my office roomabout 10 timesas a warmup. Then comes an hour of exercise with light weights and resistance bands. By 6:00 AM, I’m completely spent.
But the day doesn’t let up. From 6:00 to 7:00 AM, I’m in the garden, tending to plants, watering them, and pulling out weeds. Let me tell you, this part is literally back-breaking. After that, it’s a quick bath, followed by breakfast prep at 8:00 AM. By 8:30 AM, I’m back at my desk, ready to dive into work.
I often wonder if my mornings qualify as “playtime.†It’s more of a survival strategy, really. You see, I’ve inherited a gene pool full of diabetics, high cholesterol, and fatty livers. This rigorous routine? It’s my way of staying one step ahead.
One advantage of this hectic schedule is that by 8 PM I am fast asleep.
